It costs a lot, it takes a lot to tune, but when you get the right setup. It is on.
I guess I will start with a post on mounting points.
All skis are stamped with a mounting point or center (Relative to a 27 boot). You can make your own personal mounting point and check by taking a soft measuring tape and going from the tip to the tail. (ON twin tips stop at the contact point in the rear). Take half of that measurement and put the toe of your boot on it. Now, Take half of your boot length and thats your center!
Example: a 161 cm ski, is 80.5 cm (half the ski), then a 300mm boot, or 30cm boot (take half that and add it). Mounting point is 80.5cm plus 15cm from the tip. or 95.5 cm from the tip.
Mounting skis is a game of chance, sometimes you don't hit it right off the bat, so you just move it back and forward until it is just right.
Till next time.
